Launch group
With thanks to our partners, Bristol Museums & Galleries, who hosted the event at M Shed, to mark Disabled History Month, we celebrated the launch of History of Place and unveiled the holding pages of our new website – currently under development - http://historyof.place. Cherry Ann Knott, Heritage Lottery Fund Committee Member for the SW, introduced the Screen South and Accentuate History of Place Team so that we could explain the project and let the audience know how to get involved. Dr Mike Mantin then shared his research into the Guild of the Brave Poor Things, which will be the focus of our project in Bristol Members of the deaf and disabled community in the audience also contributed their memories of growing up in the area. A great evening and a great start!
