Gold Run: Power Passion and the Paralympic Games

Posted by Sarah Playforth, Tuesday 3rd April, 2012

On Sunday, my husband and I were completely enthralled and entranced by the performance of Gold Run at Glyndebourne. This performance was so accessible - surtitles and interpreter, visual and audio imagery, films and live action and the message was incredibly uplifting and powerful. Carousel, in partnership with Glyndebourne, the Pallant House Gallery and Oska Bright, produced a passionate and colourful demonstration of why cheating and quick wins are not a happy way to achieve success. We were treated to so many different kinds of music and song, created by the performers, whose creativity and imagination resulted in a performance that left me with fantastic memories. Can this be shown further afield please, everyone should see it.

Thanks Sarah, so pleased you enjoyed Gold Run. It is being performed again at The Corn Exchange, Brighton Dome at 6pm on Monday 21 May as part of Brighton Festival (01273 709709) www.brightonfestival.org and later in the year at Chichester Festival Theatre. Please spread the word!

So pleased to read that you enjoyed Gold Run. Something you may not know is that Accentuate has actually supported the film elements of the piece through our project uScreen - so good news for us too!
