Accentuate

The towns of Hastings and St Leonards have long and illustrious histories. However, although individual sites had taken part in Heritage Open Days before 2010, there hadn't been a coordinated and marketed programme of events.  

Creative Landscapes worked with a wide range of local partners - The Stade Education Project, the Hastings Museum and Art Gallery, Creative Partnerships, The Burton St Leonards Society, Hastings History House, the Library Service and Hastings Borough Council among others - to set up a Steering Committee and develop a programme. 

As Creative Landscapes comes to an end in 2012, Heritage Open Days in the town now has an assured future, with an active Steering Committee that now includes local businesses working alongside heritage groups.

Organisers and the Steering Committee have made a commitment to access in their work, developing a brochure with a visually clear design, working with an Access Adviser to improve their delivery of events and programming specific accessible events.
