Artists' Residencies

In 2010 Creative Landscapes commissioned three disabled artists to undertake participatory residencies that would engage people with their local heritage, demonstrate good accessible practice and lead to an event for Heritage Open Days.

To do all of this is a three month period was a tall order! However, the three artists, Sally Booth, Mandie Saw and Lynn Weddle, rose to the challenge, running a series of workshop in Gosport and Hastings and St Leonards, and delivering three Heritage Open Days events.

The residencies were also commissioned as part of Creative Landscapes' commitment to supporting career development for disabled artists. All three artists have subsequently been involved in the wider Accentuate Programme: Mandie Saw was part of  Sync South East , Sally Booth won a Dada-South Upstream Commission where she re-created her Drawing Tent, and Lynn Weddle was part of the Upstream Marketplace.
